Welcome!
As a clinical social worker providing psychotherapy services, I engage with clients to navigate the challenges of life's transitions, cope with emotional pain, and facilitate the development of healthy relationships.
I believe that in therapy emotional and behavioral change happens over time in the context of a collaborative relationship between client and therapist, based on trust and privacy. I know that the decision to enter treatment for yourself or your child is not always an easy one to make; it involves sharing private thoughts and feelings with someone who is initially a stranger, and it requires a significant investment of time and money.
Change and growth do not happen overnight. Together we will attend to past and present thoughts, emotions, and sensations to facilitate the process of change. I will gladly discuss any questions you may have at an initial consultation and during our ongoing process of working together. Please look through the additional information provided to learn more about my practice.

Areas of specialty as they affect the individual client and family:
I received a Masters in Clinical Social Work at NYU in 1988 and worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a number of agency settings; in 1996 I opened my private practice in the New Haven area. I bring an eclectic array of therapeutic theories and techniques into my work with clients; these include sensorimotor psychotherapy CBT, relational, object relations, and attachment theories, and understanding of family systems. My clinical thinking is attuned to cultural and historical influences that affect individuals and families, and is informed by the integral connection and interaction between mind, body and environment.
